A misleadingly simple view of health is calling it the absence of illness. Better to view health as a matter of degrees on a scale, the same way we measure temperature. Each organism has evolved under certain circumstances, and can operate more or less efficiently only within a compass of environmental conditions. Humans need oxygen, and are not able to live in oceans, as can whales. A cactus won't live long in a rain forest. Thus I say that the largest conception of health is at a species level. When one views health at the individual organism level, the matter becomes greatly complicated.
Every human is born with genetic programming that affects not only appearance, but functional abilities as well. A person can be born with a club foot or with a chemical imbalance. This underscores society's need to educate expecting mothers to do everything possible to ensure healthy babies. Pregnant women can cause their offspring lifelong harm by overconsuming alcohol or other drugs.
How children grow up will profoundly affect their health as adults. It has been proven by social scientists such as anthropologists, that upbringing and environment are more important than genetic differences. This, of course, is a generalization. Translated, it means we could randomly select 50 babies from widely scattered places on Earth, and raise 25 of them as if they were wolves, and 25 with nurturing, love, education, and then it would be patently obvious how much cultural influences overwhelm genetic predilections. We might summarize by saying genes allow a vast range of behavior, but culture is what shapes, selects, and lets blossom certain traits to the exclusion of others. Similarly, if children are raised undernourished, and are kept unexercised, their health will be much worse than if they are given proper or ideal conditions. It must be understood clearly what is inherited, and what is controllable. Baldness, body build, and certain other things are generally passed along through genes. Whether one exercises, eats a balanced diet, and controls stress, is in no sense genetic. There may be some overlap, but it is minor. I'm thinking that if a pregnant woman is a drug addict, so will be her child. Yet this is physiological and not technically a matter of genes.

2010 Kawasaki Vulcan® 1700 Classic
Fourth generation
In 2008, Kawasaki gave the EX250 its most thorough modernization in many years. The EX250-J model is known as the Ninja 250R worldwide, regardless of market.
Parts from the third generation are still found on the -J, but its redesigned exterior panels bring the smallest Ninja's appearance out of the '90s and into line with late-2000s sportbikes. The engine and drivetrain retain 30% of the -F model's parts, according to Kawasaki. The engine's compression and maximum torque have been lowered to provide better midrange performance, where the motorcycle spends most of its time. The redesign of the engine was a response to frustration felt by new riders, according to Kawasaki, resulting in improvements in engine response at low RPM, and making the bike smoother and "much easier to ride."[11] Though the previous generation Ninja 250 had a peak power of 1 horsepower (0.75 kW) more, or peak engine power of 5 horsepower (3.7 kW) more according to official Kawasaki specifications,[9][12] according to testing by Motorcycle Consumer News,[13] the new version's 20 or 30 percent increase in mid-range power allows the bike to pull from 3,000 rpm where previously it had to be revved to 4,000.[5] The U.S. -J model uses dual carburetors like the -F model, but the European, Brazilian and Thai models have fuel-injection. The wheels were increased in size to 17 inches, the front suspension was beefed up, and the brake rotors were replaced with a larger petal shape. A on the carbureted version, a fuel gauge was added in place of the temperature gauge. With the additional and redesigned equipment, the EX250-J suffered a 10 kg (22 lb) increase in wet weight over its predecessors.
With the arrival of the EX250-J, manufacturing continues to be located in Thaila

As noted in the second image, the screen gets widened to a 1.5:1 aspect ratio, but still retains the Click Wheel of all prior nano models—in other words, no touchscreen controls this year for the iPod nano. The Click Wheel shifts down further on the new nano’s body, shrinks a little, and sees the size of the center Action button decrease as well. Finally, there’s a camera on the back in an unusual location, one which conceivably might be blocked by hands… except when the iPod nano is corner-gripped for photography. It will debut at the same time as the new iPod touch, between July and September. Our gut feeling is September.
Also of interest: we’ve been told that the next-generation iPhone will come in six versions: two storage capacities each for 3G, enhanced 3G (“3.5G/3.75G”), and mainland China versions of the phone, which will have the same size and general design of the current model, but with a less scratchable matte plastic body. Each of the three versions has been made to match the telecom systems of specific countries, so users in one country shouldn’t expect to have the option between a “slow iPhone” and “fast iPhone.” As before, you’ll get capacity options and different colors

History of our Cletrac K-20
Our Cletrac was used as pulling machine in farming. Later my grandfather gave it to his daughter (my mother). It was very rusty, but I was charmed with this little old tractor! The bearing of connecting rod was broken and that is actually the reason, why the tractor was abandoned to the near forest at 60's or 70's. I started to repair and restore it in 1988. It took many summers to restore and repair it, but it was fun and worth it. Nowadays the tractor is working. If you own a Cletrac or have technical data or any kind of information about Cletracs, please email me!
Our Cletrac is Model K-20, known also as 20K, K, and 20-27 tractor. Here you can see another picture of same-looking Cletrac (the air cleaner is different). And here you can see Dave's Cletrac. I am not sure, if it is Model K, because there are some differences compared to our Cletrac (missing slits of the hood and a wheel instead of crank. And here is one photo more of Cletrac Model K. Its fuel tank has been modified, but otherwise it looks the same as our Cletrac. Here is one photo more about Cletrac K, and also about Model 15-25. Tzafrir Margalit from Israel sent me this photo of Cletrac K-20.

36 D trains , “Alter Ego”
According to the magazine, the sale of the rolling stock was arranged by a Berlin company with the memorable name SFH Schienenfahrzeug Export-Import Handelsgesellschaft. In the case of both the G and D trains, they were transferred to Deutsche Bahn (national railway) lines at Wuhletal station, from where they were taken to Wismar aboard closed goods trains.
The Berlin rolling stock ran at a nominal 750 volts, as did the original vehicles, but since the GI trains are substantially narrower than the original rolling stock (2.28 m compared to 2.70 m), running boards had to be added to prevent passengers from falling into the gap between door and platform. In addition, the trains are a few centimeters lower than the originals, and passengers had to step down slightly upon entering.
Some of the GI trains were initially deployed on the Athens ISAP line. These were shipped back to Berlin in 1983-4. All of them were sold to Pyongyang.
The picture below shows one of these on the Athens-Piraeus line at that time. As in Pyongyang, it was fitted with running boards, clearly visible in the photograph. While in Greece, these were known as GII, but became GIs again after their return to Berlin.

Infiniti G Coupe IPL (2010)
#So Infiniti Performance Line is an M Division rival?
No, not yet – everything is still in the very early stages of development. But rather than follow Lexus’s example (launch a bespoke car, the ISF, followed by F Sport kits later) Infiniti is launching the much cheaper sporting upgrades first. If it proves popular (and if the economy improves too) then we’ll see IPL upgrades available for other Infinitis. And if company bosses can make the numbers work, we’ve heard from Infiniti sources that it would be keen to expand IPL to build sports cars to rival M, S and RS and AMG models.
'IPL was conceived to create a new premium performance envelope, going beyond equipment upgrades to accelerate the very soul of Infiniti’s Inspired Performance,' said Infiniti vice president Ben Poore. 'IPL brings all the elements together, styling harmonized with performance, exhaust note with acceleration feel, ride comfort and confident handling. It’s the perfect formula for unmatched driving exhilaration.'
#Fair enough, but how does Infiniti’s very first IPL package stack up?
Infiniti has unveiled its first IPL kit for its most sporting car, the G37 Coupe. There are new front and rear bumpers, black surrounds for the fog lights, more sculpted side sills, a little rear spoiler and some chrome-tipped exhausts. Inside there are more supportive front seats.
The IPL kit isn’t just about the visuals though. An ECU tweak has added an extra 18bhp for a total of 343bhp (400rpm further up the rev range, at 7400rpm), along with 276lb ft (up 6lb ft). A new exhaust helps reduce back pressure, adding some extra noise as well, and the IPL G Coupe also features 19-inch alloys and performance-focussed Bridgestone tyres. Finally, the front and rear springs have been stiffened up, the shocks absorbers have been adjusted, the steering is sharper, there are upgraded brakes and a rear ‘diff.
Prices for the IPL kit have yet to be announced, and currently the package is only available in North America, though availability for other markets is under consideration

RE: Infiniti G Coupe IPL (2010)
Ps As for IPL and the tarted car in the pics............. Its a mess. Report card says must try harder. Understated and tasteful is the order of the day.
Oh and on my blog below --DONT mention Lexus. If they had an original idea or a brand theme running through their range (rather than just ripping off who ever they feel is the best in class) it 'might' be interesting. And yes I accept their service is great (listening BMW / Audi)
The front end of the Volkswagen Golf Variant was completely redesigned. Its visual appearance follows today’s Volkswagen “Design DNA”. From now its appearance is defined by clear horizontal lines and bold headlight styling. The car’s engine lineup was adopted directly from the Volkswagen Golf 2-door and 4-door models. In the interior, the high-end instruments of the current Volkswagen Golf set the tone. In Europe, first units of the new VW Golf will be delivered in September 2009.
Features and engines
At its market launch – in parallel to advance sales that are now starting – the successful Estate (more than 95,000 new vehicle registrations in 2008) will be offered in the three equipment versions Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The latter replaces the previous Sportline version as the top equipment line. Engines available for selection when advance sales begin are a TSI (boosted gasoline direct-injection engine) with 90 kW / 122 PS and two very quiet common rail turbo-diesels (77 kW / 105 PS and 103 kW / 140 PS). Other engines will follow in stages: two Multipoint engines (59 kW / 80 PS and 75 kW / 102 PS) and another TSI gasoline engine (118 kW / 160 PS). All six engines fulfil the new Euro-5 emissions standard.
Exterior details of the new Volkswagen Golf Variant
In front, the new VW Golf Variant can be recognized by its new bumper, radiator grille and engine hood styling and its modified fenders and headlights, which were all adapted 1:1 from the estate’s 2-door and 4-door counterparts. In contrast to the previous model, the front-end design is no longer defined by a chrome radiator grille, rather by a black, horizontally layout of the grille and front bumper painted in car colour. In the lower area, the Estate has an additional large air inlet too. Starting with the mid-level equipment version (Comfortline), chrome inserts are integrated in the radiator grille and the lower air inlet. In the top Highline version, this also applies to the frames for the front fog lights with new static turning light function that are a standard feature here.
At the rear, the independent design of the previous model has been upgraded in the new generation by modified, more elegant taillights and bumpers fully painted in car colour in the lower area. From now on, TDI and TSI versions can also be recognized by their tailpipes, which are no longer covered by the bumper. In addition, Volkswagen developed a new wheel lineup for the new Volkswagen Golf Variant.
Interior details of the new VW Golf Variant
At the time of its presentation last fall, the sixth generation VW Golf received excellent marks, especially for its high-end quality. In the interior, it was especially in the styling of the gauges that the Golf crossed boundaries to the next higher class and still does. The same gauges and instruments, including a standard multifunctional display and upshift indicator, are now being used in the new Volkswagen Golf Variant too. Also adopted from the Golf was the new generation of three-spoke steering wheels, which celebrated their debut in the Volkswagen Passat CC in 2008.
In this context, controls for the new Golf climate control system were integrated in the VW Golf Variant as well. Volkswagen also adapted its line of different seat covers (Trendline: “Roxy”; Comfortline: “Scout”; Highline: Alcantara/fabric “Merlin”) to the entire model series. The same applies to features ranging from the radio and navigation systems up to the interfaces for MP3 players and Bluetooth mobile telephones. Two driver assistance systems are also available as options for the first time in the Volkswagen Golf Variant: “ParkAssist” (automatic parking assistant) and “Rear Assist” (rearview camera). Another feature being offered is the panorama sunroof that is popular among many Volkswagen Golf Variant buyers.
Euro-5 engines of the new Volkswagen Golf Variant in detail
Volkswagen is launching the new VW Golf Variant on the market with four gasoline and two diesel engine options; they all meet the limits of the new Euro-5 standard. The entry level continues to be marked by an 80-PS gasoline engine, followed by a 102-PS version. The two most powerful gasoline engines (TSI with 122 PS and 160 PS) and the two turbo-diesels (TDI with 105 PS and 140 PS) may be ordered with an optional automatic DSG dual clutch transmission.
Entirely new to the Volkswagen Golf Variant’s engine lineup is the 105 PS common rail TDI. Like the larger 2.0-liter TDI, the 1.6-liter four cylinder is also characterized by noticeably comfortable noise levels, low emissions (119 g/km CO2) and an extremely low average fuel consumption (4.5 litres per hundred kilometres). Compared to the previous model of the same power, fuel consumption was reduced by 0.7 litre.
The 2.0 TDI was adopted from the previous generation of the VW Golf Variant; it also has a highly advanced common rail direct injection system. The 140 PS strong and 210 km/h fast Volkswagen Golf Variant 2.0 TDI consumes 5.0 litre (132 g/km CO2), which is impressively low considering its power. The TDI engines may be ordered together with any of the three equipment versions.
As already noted, the gasoline engines of the Volkswagen Golf Variant have power levels of 80 PS (MPI), 102 PS (MPI), 122 PS (TSI) and 160 PS (TSI). The base engine with 80 PS is available with the Trendline equipment line; the 102-PS version may be ordered as a VW Golf Variant Trendline or VW Golf Variant Comfortline. The TSI engines can each be ordered together with the Comfortline or Highline equipment versions.
Just how efficiently the current gasoline engines from Volkswagen perform is well-illustrated by the TSI. Its 6.3 litre (122 PS) and 6.4 litre (160 PS) fuel consumption values place their average fuel consumption on par with the already economical base engine with 80 PS. When shifted by a DSG transmission, fuel consumption is even reduced to 6.0 litres per 100 kilometres (139 g/km CO2) on the 122-PS TSI and 6.1 litres (143 g/km CO2) on the 160-PS version. With this engine lineup, the new Volkswagen Golf Variant is one of the most economical and cleanest estate cars in Europe.

Volkswagen begins accepting advance orders for the new Volkswagen Golf Variant. In the sixth generation of the world bestseller, after the 2-door and 4-door VW Golf and the latest Volkswagen Golf Plus, this is the fourth body version to be launched. The estate is one of the most successful models on the market, particularly in the company car market. The extensive redesign of this Estate should ensure that the all-around talent further extends its position as a business estate car and as a first car for families as well. The base price of the new Volkswagen Golf Variant in Germany, including ESP, six airbags, daytime running lights, roof railing, power windows all around, upshift indicator, power and heated outside mirrors, 1/3 to 2/3 split folding rear bench seat and seatback, central locking with RF remote control, climate control and 1,495 litres of cargo capacity is € 18,500.

Crack This Code
By: Danielle SacksApril 1, 2006
G. Clotaire Rapaille has guided Chrysler, Procter Gamble, Boeing, and other enraptured clients through the "collective unconscious" of dozens of cultures. Now he's taking on India. Is he a sage--or a charlatan?
It's day four of our journey into the heart of India's culture, and we're holed up inside the sprawling Bangalore Oberoi hotel. Somehow, this immaculately manicured property blocks out the offensive cocktail of sandalwood and diesel that overwhelms your senses when you're actually navigating the anarchic streets of India's high-tech capital. It makes you forget that India has no personal space, or that 300 million of its people live on less than a dollar a day.
So on this afternoon, instead, India comes to us. Even before the research session begins, participants reveal centuries-old cultural tics. Women are wound in rich greens and hot pinks, oranges and golds; the men are a colorless contrast, swathed in grays and beiges and blacks. Asked to sit themselves in a circle, they self-organize: Men and women take to opposite sides of the room, with the oldest of both sexes seated together.
This surely means something, and eventually, the Frenchman in black cowboy boots watching via a monitor in the next room will explain what that meaning is. G. Clotaire Rapaille will crack India's code, as he has dozens of others. He will explain what makes this intricate country and its people tick and, not incidentally, how to do business there. And for that intelligence, the corporate clients who have traveled to India with him, including executives from DuPont and luxury goods group Richemont, will reward him handsomely.
Rapaille is a market researcher, political scientist, medical anthropologist, and cultural shrink. Armed with Freudian and Jungian psychoanalytical theory, he seeks to tap a people's "collective unconscious," revealing what it means to be Japanese, German, or most recently, Chinese. "The code is like an access code: How do you punch the buttons to open the door?" Rapaille says, revealing a pungent accent. "Suddenly, once you get the code, you understand everything. It's like getting new glasses."
This stuff doesn't fly well in scholarly circles. Richard A. Shweder, a University of Chicago professor of cultural anthropology and psychology, likens Rapaille's methodologies to "the soft porn of irrationalism." (Rapaille, for his part, dismisses academics out of hand: "They only have ideas. They don't have any results.") And his New York-based firm, Archetype Discoveries Worldwide, seems amateurish at times. (I discovered that the woman leading the Bangalore focus group, for example, was also his live-in personal chef; "he and his wife prefer light fare like salads," she told me.)
Yet Rapaille's corporate portfolio is as extravagant as his black velvet suits and Rolls-Royces. He's not shy about boasting that "50 of the Fortune 100 companies" are his clients, that he has "cracked 35 codes" for P&G, and that he is author of "14 books." Companies pay Rapaille between $125,000 and $225,000 to crack cultures, product categories, or brands across cultures. (What, for example, does toilet paper mean to Americans versus the Japanese?) He gets $30,000 per 45-minute speech.
Indeed, many clients regard him with a zeal more often reserved for a cult leader. Listen to Mike Jensen, GMAC Insurance's chief brand officer: "For us, [Rapaille's findings] created a sense of identity and noble purpose." Or to Ed McQuigg, who directs strategy and marketing for Richemont: "Whenever you can… go for a walk with him, let your mind run and ask him one question after another, and you will learn things about life."
One question comes to mind over and over: Is Rapaille for real? I traveled to India with him looking to decode one of the world's last great growth markets: "The next China's" mushrooming middle class, after all, is nearing 300 million, creating an enormous opportunity for consumer brands and retailers. Yet its 5,000-year history, its 1 billion inhabitants, and its 15 official languages also make it, if not impenetrable to outsiders, then certainly challenging. Rapaille promised insight. And that, I certainly got.
As the session begins, Rapaille perches, legs crossed, within inches of the monitor, furiously scribbling in a journal with a quote from Gandhi taped to the interior flap. His swooping amber hair grazes a finely tailored black suit; he sports a watch on each wrist--one for local Indian time, the other for New York.
"Does India still have a caste system?" the moderator asks the group. The Indians take the bait, shouting "no!" or "yes!" as the room explodes into raucous debate.
"Suddenly, once you get the code, you understand everything. It's like getting new glasses."

The best bloodlines in the business of g five company
Ever since Torakusu Yamaha built his first organ in 1887, the name Yamaha has stood for innovation and ingenuity. But what really gave the Yamaha name a boost of power was the creation of Yamaha Motors in 1955. From this beginning came some of the world’s most celebrated motorcycles, water vehicles, racing engines, ATVs and golf cars.
Today, Yamaha is a leading manufacturer of musical instruments and high quality audio/visual products, and one of the largest producer of Motor Sports products in the world. Yamaha's product lines have expanded to include boats, unmanned helicopters and industrial robots.
We just want to be the best at everything we do: designing products, making products, and servicing the customers who buy our products. That’s why Yamaha products are recognized the world over for superior quality in design, technology, craftsmanship, and customer-oriented services.

2007Yamaha YDR (The DRIVE®) Golf Car
The DRIVE has truly revolutionized the golf car industry. Before we designed The DRIVE, we spent countless hours listening to customers, course owners and obtaining feedback from the industry. We began by asking questions no one had ever asked before. Starting with this: Why shouldn’t a golf car be fun to drive? The culmination of this research lead to the design, development and production of what we believe is the finest golf car ever made. Styled with classic elegance and infused with cutting edge technology, The DRIVE embodies legendary Yamaha quality and reliability. The DRIVE features several industry firsts including an internal wet-brake transaxle that eliminates the need for brake drums and shoes, an automotive-style dash and an ATV inspired clutch that provides better response and greater hill climbing ability
2003Yamaha G-22 Model (G-MAX) Golf Car
The G-22 was designed to provide maximum comfort, performance and reliability, hence the name G-MAX. Standard features on both models included a newly designed brake pedal (with top left parking brake), Ergo-Shade sun top and Tru-Trak rack & pinion steering. In addition, the 4-stroke model received a powerful 357 cc motor, while the 48 volt electric model received the advanced Genius System
2005Yamaha G-23 Model (U-MAX Medium Duty I) Utility Vehicle
1990Yamaha G-8 Model (Fleet Classic) Golf Car
2009Yamaha YTF1 (Adventurer One) Utility Vehicle
1995Yamaha G-14 Model (Ultima) Golf Car
A new larger engine (300 cc) and a longer and wider stance than earlier models made the G-14 the ultimate golf car, hence the name Ultima. The G-14 was the first golf car to have a 360° body protection system (Yamaha's Sentry Wraparound Protection System™) and blow-molded 5 mph impact-resistant front and rear bumpers.
1985Yamaha G-2 Model Golf Car
1979Yamaha G-1 Model Golf Car
Yamaha has always been known as a leader of innovation. That certainly held true for Yamaha's first golf car, the G-1. The G-1 was the first two-stroke powered golf car to have an oil injection system as standard equipment. It was also the first model to have a solid-state electronic ignition system. The electric version of the G-1 came along one year later, in 1980.The G-1 was the beginning of long line of Yamaha golf cars that have become recognized as the most reliable and durable golf cars on the planet.

Galleon Group
The Galleon Group managed approximately $3.7 billion spread across several hedge funds. In late 2008, the company found itself at the center of an insider trading case involving the firm's founder, Raj Rajaratnam. Rajaratnam and a co-defendant, Danielle Chiesi, have been charged with conspiracy and securities fraud. They have denied wrongdoing. The firm's investment funds were dissolved following the charges in October 2009, as investors scrambled to withdraw their money.
The story continues to make news due to the high stature of the 21 people who have been charged in the insider-trading probe, 12 of whom have pleaded guilty to criminal charges. A number of quotations released from wiretaps have also drawn heavy attention to what has been called the largest hedge fund insider trading case in history. Because of the unresolved nature of this case, this could be an especially toxic company to have on one's resume. (For more, check out Top 4 Insider Trading Scandals.)

Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, LLC
Bernard Madoff is another toxic name for a resume thanks to its connection with securities fraud. Madoff, 72, is serving a 150-year prison term after pleading guilty to running the biggest Ponzi scheme in history from his firm, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.
Unfortunately for Madoff's former employees, most people are unaware that Madoff's firm had a separate, completely legitimate trading operations division that engaged in market-making activities. Before Madoff's arrest, this branch of the company had approximately 120 employees. The division was sold in early 2009 to a Boston-based brokerage firm for $15 million; the remaining employees were dismissed. Only one of Madoff's employees has ever been charged of a crime related to the Ponzi scheme, but you can bet that the notoriety surrounding Madoff's scheme could make it difficult for any former employees to land positions in the financial industry.

Enron Corporation
Enron is a now defunct company was at the center of one of the most famous corporate scandals in history. The enormity of the company's improprieties caused the Enron name to become virtually synonymous with white collar crime. Enron's stock price fell from over $90 in August 2000 to 12 cents in January 2002. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December 2001.
The accounting schemes perpetrated inside Enron were very complex, often involving multiple legal entities and highly questionable accounting treatments. Several Enron executives were charged with illegal actions, including Enron CEO Jeffrey Skilling, who was convicted of multiple charges related to Enron's collapse. Although only 19 executives pleaded guilty or were convicted for their part in the scandal, Enron had more than 20,000 employees before the scandal hit. This means that many innocent employees likely suffered from their former employer's tainted reputation. Enron scandal is considered to be one of the main causes for the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 which imposed strict new reforms aimed at preventing Enron-style abuses.
